MUMBAI: The Mumbai Fire Brigade has slapped notices on 308 High Rise Residential and Commercial establishments, Malls and Hotels for deficiencies which have been found in their fire fighting equipment required within its premises.
As per Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act 2006, a total 278 buildings which has not complied with the notices have also been issued with reminders to comply with all deficiencies recommended in notice. The reminders also informed to the concern building management if the compliance for the deficiencies are not complied within stipulated time disconnection of water supply/ and electric supply/ prosecution will be initiated by this department. The Fire Brigade department has also initiated prosecution through legal department of the BMC on three of the establishments.more..
