ORANGE – An apartment unit was destroyed by a two-alarm fire Wednesday in Orange.
The blaze was reported around 11:40 a.m. in a fourplex at Palmyra Studio Manor in the 2100 block of West Palmyra Avenue, said Orange Fire Capt. Casey Fieldhouse.
The first and second floors of the unit were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, Fieldhouse said.
No one was home when the fire broke out and there were no injuries. Information about the cause of the fire was not immediately available, Fieldhouse said.
In addition to the destroyed unit, two other units sustained smoke and water damage, Fieldhouse said.
Three residents, one in each of the units, were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross and the Orange Fire Department.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by about 12:10 p.m. The Orange Fire Department was assisted by personnel from the Orange County Fire Authority and Anaheim and Garden Grove fire departments.more..
