A fire broke out suddenly in the Hisar Express, a train running from Rajasthan to Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, causing panic among passengers and halting services in the area. The flames spread rapidly, triggering an emergency response from railway officials. A Vande Bharat train which was passing on parallel track stopped on time. The incident occurred near Tirupati railway station. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. This comes just a day after, a major fire on a crude oil freight train near Thiruvallur disrupted rail traffic along the busy Chennai–Arakkonam route, causing widespread delays and cancellations. The incident sparked panic among early commuters and triggered a massive emergency response from railway and fire service personnel. Crude Oil Tanker Catches Fire Near EgatturThe fire broke out around 5 am Sunday when a freight train carrying 45 tankers of crude oil, travelling from Ennore in Chennai to Mumbai, was passing through the Egattur area near Thiruvallur. According to railway sources, one of the tankers suddenly caught fire, which then spread to adjacent tankers, quickly escalating into a large-scale blaze. Dramatic visuals from the site showed thick black smoke billowing into the early morning sky, prompting authorities to immediately halt rail traffic on the affected stretch as a safety precaution. Due to firefighting operations, train operations on the Chennai–Arakkonam section were temporarily suspended, leading to significant disruptions. Read more
