Kolkata: A fire broke out on the rooftop of Blue Cherry Guest House in Kolkata on Friday afternoon. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Authorities said further checks are being carried out to ensure the building’s safety. Fire officials confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident. In a separate news, two women and a man working at Mahajan Electronics on Ring Road in Delhi’s Raja Garden died after suffering severe burn injuries in a fire on Monday afternoon, officials said. The Delhi Fire Service rushed to the spot after receiving information about the blaze and managed to bring the fire under control. According to officials, a call was received around 2:30 pm reporting flames at the showroom on Ring Road. Firefighters reached the site promptly and rescued four people trapped inside, who were then rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors confirmed that three of them died while undergoing treatment. The fourth person, identified as Sandeep, is still receiving medical care. Read more
