Cupertino Fire: Blaze at Kirkland Drive, Sunnyvale Prompts Fire Department Response

Fire crews in Sunnyvale, California, were called to a two-alarm blaze on Wednesday morning, authorities said. The fire was reported at about 10:50 local time on the 1600 block of Kirkland Drive, prompting a response from the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. ,“We are responding to a two-alarm fire on the 1600 block of Kirkland Dr. Traffic will be disrupted. Please avoid the area if possible,” the department said in a statement. ,Smoke from the fire was visible from neighbouring Cupertino, around 3.4 miles (5.5km) away, according to residents. Images and video shared on social media showed white smoke rising into the sky and flames on part of a roof, with firefighters using an elevated platform to tackle the blaze.,,The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed. Authorities have not said whether anyone was injured. ,Sunnyvale, which has a population of about 160,000, is one of the largest cities in the San Francisco Bay Area.
