Fire Breaks out at Mumbai’s Churchgate Railway Station-VIDEO

Mumbai: A fire broke out at Mumbai’s Churchgate Railway Station on Thursday evening. No one was injured in the incident that was reported around 5.25 pm by the Western Railway, an official told news agency PTI. The Mumbai fire brigade rushed its teams and firefighting equipment to the spot. Police and local civic staff were also mobilised to facilitate the firefighting operation, the civic official said. In a separate incident, a massive fire broke out at the Ghansoli bus depot in Navi Mumbai, resulting in two buses — one electric and one diesel — being completely gutted. According to initial reports, the fire is believed to have started in the electric bus, which was parked at the depot for repairs. The flames quickly spread to a nearby diesel bus. Officials stated that the primary cause appears to be a short circuit in the electric bus, though a detailed investigation is underway to confirm the exact reason. Visuals from the site showed thick plumes of smoke billowing from the buses as fire tenders rushed to the scene. In another incident, a fire broke out at a shop in central Mumbai in the early hours of Friday, following which a firefighter sustained injuries while attempting to douse the flames, an official said. The fire erupted at the shop located in Gandhi Nagar, Worli, around 4.45 am, an official said, as quoted by PTI. The fire affected the electric wiring, electric installation, gift boxes, make-up accessories, printed material, stationery stock, clothes, computers, and a TVS bike kept on the mezzanine floor, he said.
