Those staying on the first and second floors in the building in Noida Sector 87 had gone to the terrace when the fire brigade reached the site for rescue work, according to the chief fire officer.

A timely alert by two men who reached Noida’s Naya Gaon fire station on a motorbike on Tuesday night helped to save over 100 people stuck on the terrace of a four-storey building in Sector 87 after an LPG leak triggered a fire, officials said on Wednesday.

Pradeep Kumar, Chief Fire Officer, Noida, said the police received information around 11.30 pm that a four-storey building in Naya Gaon under the Phase 2 police station limits had caught fire and that several residents had been trapped in it.
