Kolkata: A fire broke out at a chemical factory near Gulshan Colony in Kolkata on Saturday, creating concern among residents in the area. Smoke was seen rising from the factory as fire engines reached the spot to control the situation. Officials said the cause of the fire has not yet been identified. So far, no injuries have been reported. The area has been cordoned off as a precaution, and efforts are on to fully douse the flames. In a separate case, Two women and a man working at Mahajan Electronics on Ring Road in Delhi’s Raja Garden died after suffering severe burn injuries in a fire on Monday afternoon, officials said. The Delhi Fire Service rushed to the spot after receiving information about the blaze and managed to bring the fire under control. According to officials, a call was received around 2:30 pm reporting flames at the showroom on Ring Road. Firefighters reached the site promptly and rescued four people trapped inside, who were then rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors confirmed that three of them died while undergoing treatment. The fourth person, identified as Sandeep, is still receiving medical care. A firefighter was also injured during the rescue operation. While the situation is now under control, officials are investigating the cause of the fire. Read more
