Meanwhile, manual systems comprise fire-fighting systems like extinguishers, sprinklers and hose pipes that need to be activated and operated manually.

A month after a blaze was reported at Link Mall in upscale Bandra locality, the Mumbai Fire Brigade’s internal inquiry report has highlighted lapses in the mall’s fire-fighting system that had intensified the blaze. The MFB’s report stated that the installed fire-fighting system was manual instead of having an automated system.

The automated fire-fighting system comprises smoke sensors that automatically discharge water through sprinklers in a fire incident. Meanwhile, manual systems comprise fire-fighting systems like extinguishers, sprinklers and hose pipes that need to be activated and operated manually.
