Panic on Tata–Ernakulam Express After Fire Breaks Out in 2 Coaches; 1 Man Dead, Other Evacuated

Andhra Pradesh: A man was killed after two coaches of the Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express caught fire near Yalamanchili in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district in the early hours of Monday, prompting an emergency halt and evacuation, police said.,A senior police official said information about the blaze was received at 12:45 am. The incident occurred near Yalamanchili, around 66 km from Anakapalli. The loco pilot immediately stopped the train, enabling a swift evacuation of passengers from the affected area.,One Body Recovered From B1 CoachAccording to police, 82 passengers were travelling in one affected coach and 76 in the other when the fire broke out. “Unfortunately, a dead body was found from the B1 coach,” the official told reporters. The deceased has been identified as Chandrsekhar Sundaram.,Railway officials said the two damaged coaches were detached from the train, after which the remaining rake proceeded towards Ernakulam. Arrangements are being made to send passengers from the affected coaches to their respective destinations.,Two forensic teams have been deployed to ascertain the cause of the fire.
