New Delhi: A fire broke out near the Sanjay Lake forest area in Delhi’s Pandav Nagar early on Monday. The blaze has since been brought under control. Visuals from the scene showed thick plumes of smoke rising from the forest as firefighters worked to douse the flames. More details are awaited. Two separate fire incidents were reported on Sunday evening, prompting a swift response from the fire department, a Delhi Fire Service official said. The first blaze occurred around 6:24 PM in a park near a residential society in the Geeta Colony area of Shahdara. Three fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot. Firefighters managed to bring the flames under control swiftly, preventing any damage to nearby properties, a PTI report said. The fire department received the call at 6:37 pm and promptly dispatched a team to the site. The flames were doused without any injuries or major damage. While the exact cause of the fires is yet to be known, officials suspect dry vegetation and rising temperatures could be contributing factors, a PTI report said.
