Efforts are underway to ensure no one is injured in the incident, said the officer. He said the police was informed about the incident at 3.25 am.
Earlier on Thursday, a fire erupted inside a locked apartment on the second floor of a residential tower in Noida Extension and spread to the third-floor balcony.
There were no casualties, but property damage was reported. Three fire tenders responded, and the fire was controlled within two hours.
Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey had said the blaze was reported around 9.30 am from a flat in Gaur City 16th Avenue Society in Bisrakh.
The officer confirmed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit and suspects the presence of inflammable materials in the flat.
The apartment was locked as its owner was away. With the help of the society’s maintenance team, officials entered the flat and controlled the blaze.
The house was badly damaged, and the fire had also spread to the third-floor flat’s balcony, which was immediately extinguished.
The fire officer advised the public to exercise caution when leaving their homes and warned high-rise residents against closing their balconies with iron grilles, as it can pose difficulties during emergencies.
