Mumbai: A fire broke out at Phoenix Mall, Kurla, Mumbai on Thursday night, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. As per the details, the Mumbai Fire Brigade received the alert at 9:45 PM and declared it a Level 1 fire at 10:05 PM. According to sources, the fire originated in a shop within the food court area. While the blaze was not major, thick smoke spread across the food court and other sections of the mall, creating panic among visitors. As a precautionary measure, authorities evacuated the entire mall to prevent any risk to public safety. Firefighters successfully extinguished the flames, but residual smoke led them to initiate ventilation procedures to clear the premises. Police, Adani power officials, ambulance services, and ward staff were also deployed to assist with the situation. An eyewitness reported that several shops were closing at the time of the incident, while the food court remained open. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Recently, a major fire broke out at Crawford Market, resulting in the destruction of multiple shops and financial losses.
