The chief fire officer said the blaze erupted from an LPG cylinder blast, which might have been triggered by a short circuit in the compressor system of the air conditioning unit

A 38-year-old man died while seven others sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out at an eatery at Dargah road in Mahim on Friday evening.

The incident comes two days after the Bombay High Court (HC) held the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) responsible for a fire that broke out at a hotel in Mumbai’s Kurla area in 2015, which claimed eight lives.
