Western Railway’s Mumbai Central Division stated that there was no risk to passengers or trains, as services had already been held back at safe distances from the fire site.
Harbour line services on the Western Railway’s Mumbai Central Division were partially disrupted on Friday afternoon after a fire broke out in shanties adjacent to the UP Harbour line between Mahim and Bandra. The incident occurred around 12.15 pm, prompting officials to immediately disconnect the overhead electric supply as a safety precaution.
According to the Western Railway, the train movements were regulated to ensure that no service passed near the affected stretch until the situation was fully secured. Officers clarified that there was no risk to passengers or trains, as services had already been held back at safe distances from the fire site.
