Ghaziabad apartment fire rescue

A major fire broke out in a residential apartment building in Ghaziabad’s Shalimar Garden Extension area, triggering panic among residents late in the evening. According to fire department officials, the blaze started in a flat on the upper floor of the building, quickly spreading thick smoke across the premises.

Families Rush to Terrace to Escape Smoke

As flames intensified, several residents ran toward the terrace to save themselves from suffocating smoke. Around 12 people, including four minors, became trapped on the rooftop while waiting for rescue teams to arrive. Eyewitnesses described scenes of fear and chaos as residents shouted for help from the top floor.

Firefighters Launch Rapid Rescue Operation

The Sahibabad Fire Station responded immediately after receiving the emergency call around 7:30 PM. Multiple fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and firefighters began evacuation and firefighting operations simultaneously. Rescue teams safely shifted all trapped residents to secure areas while working to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby flats.

No Casualties Reported in the Incident

Officials confirmed that all 12 trapped residents were rescued safely and no casualties were reported. Firefighters managed to control the blaze within nearly an hour despite heavy smoke inside the building. Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the fire, though authorities are still examining the exact cause.

Rising Concerns Over Apartment Fire Safety

The incident has once again raised serious questions about fire safety preparedness in residential buildings across Ghaziabad and nearby NCR regions. Experts say many apartment complexes still lack proper fire exits, smoke alarms, and emergency response systems, putting residents at greater risk during emergencies.

A Timely Reminder for Every Family

The Ghaziabad apartment fire ended without loss of life because of quick action by firefighters and timely evacuation efforts. However, the incident serves as a powerful reminder that fire emergencies can strike without warning. Installing fire safety equipment, conducting regular inspections, and spreading awareness can save countless lives in the future.
