Massive Fire Erupts In Bengal’s Haldia Refinery, Several Workers Feared Injured

A major fire broke out in a naphtha pipeline at the Haldia Refinery in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur district early Tuesday, leaving more than 10 workers injured, police said. Several workers sustained burn injuries after the blaze erupted and were rushed to Haldia Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment. Some of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. According to local reports, the fire broke out around 4 a.m. after a suspected leak in the naphtha pipeline. Thick black smoke was initially seen rising from the site before flames rapidly intensified. The blaze spread quickly due to the gas leak, triggering panic in the area.
