Searsmont, Maine Explosion: Major Fire After Silo Blast at Robbins Lumber

A large explosion and fire occurred Saturday at Robbins Lumber Inc., located at 506 Main Street South, prompting a major multi-agency emergency response. According to initial reports, a silo at the lumber facility exploded, causing significant structural damage and injuring multiple people, including both workers and responding firefighters. Current Response A full mutual aid response has been activated from departments across Waldo County and surrounding areas.Multiple EMS units and medical helicopters are on scene treating and transporting injured individuals.At least one male patient is reported to have suffered third-degree burns to the head, face, and hands, along with first- and second-degree burns over the rest of his body.Additional patients are being treated for various injuries related to the explosion.Fire crews are currently engaged in firefighting and containment operations while searching for any trapped or additional injured individuals.
