Around 10 patients had to be shifted to other wards after fire broke out in the ground-floor storeroom of Surat’s Mission Hospital with smoke reaching the upper floors on Tuesday evening.
Sources in the fire department said they received a call from Mission Hospital at 6pm following which personnel from Athwa fire department reached the spot and found smoke emanating from a closed storeroom and a couple of rooms on the ground floor. The smoke had reached the upper floors comprising different wards.
