Delhi Fire Services were on high alert after two incidents, including a factory blaze in Bawana causing a collapse. Fortunately, no injuries occurred at the factory, but three people sustained burns in another fire in Old Delhi. Investigation ongoing.
Delhi Fire Services (DFS) remained on high alert early on Saturday following two separate fire incidents reported just hours apart, including a major blaze at a factory in Bawana that caused the building to collapse. While no one was reportedly hurt in the fire at the factory, three people sustained burns in the other incident reported in the Old Delhi area.
Officials said the fire at the factory in Sector 2, DSIIDC Bawana, broke out at around 4.48 am. Seventeen fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the site. The situation escalated when a blast occurred subsequently inside the factory premises, causing the building to collapse. The firefighting teams continued cooling operations at the site for several hours.
