The Assam police on Tuesday said bodies of three gunmen, suspected to belong to “some faction of the NSCN”, had been recovered after an exchange of gunfire in the N Kubin-Hera Kilo area of Dima Hasao district.
The Naga Army, the military wing of NSCN(IM), on Wednesday claimed that three of its members were killed by security forces in Assam’s Dima Hasao in a “premeditated attack” on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Naga Army said the incident has “once again pushed the hard-earned Naga peace process to the brink of collapse”.
