On Tuesday, the fire safety officer concerned recorded his statements before the Surat fire department over issuing the renewal of the fire NOC to the market.
A week after a massive fire broke out in the Surat textile market, the fire department has begun the process of checking all fire NOCs (No-Objection Certificates) given by the registered firms to textile markets on ring roads in the city.
Surat chief fire officer Basant Pareek said, “We have started the procedure of checking all Fire NOCs… There are over 250 textile markets. The fire teams will also see if safety equipment are functional and whether the market association staff had availed training on carrying out fire extinguishing activity or not.”
